Erin Matson Branding Project - Video Team

During the fall semester of my senior year, I worked alongside five other students to storyboard, film, and edit the video elements that launched an entirely student-run name, image, and likeness campaign for student-athlete Erin Matson, making it the first campaign of its kind. As a team member, I helped bring campaign ideas to life by assisting in the creation of a hype reel, highlighting Erin's athletic prowess and dominance on the field hockey field to promote awareness within both the UNC and larger field hockey communities. I also assisted with editing decisions and shot sequencing for the video elements of the campaign, attended all filming sessions to help direct the team, and facilitated necessary group discussions when brainstorming video ideas. This was a pioneering project that I was lucky to be a part of, increasing my digital storytelling skills and heightening my love for the Carolina community even more. Go Heels!

This video launched the entirely student-run branding campaign for Erin Matson, a 3x Field Hockey National Champion, and all-around superstar. I worked alongside 5 other students to produce a video that promoted Erin's name and increased her awareness within the UNC community and the larger field hockey network. After weeks of brainstorming and collaborating, we brought our ideas to life, and couldn't have been more proud to release this video to help give Erin the hype she so deserves.

Inspired by the Vogue 73 Questions video series, one of my favorite youtube channels of all time, we created this video to show who Erin is when she's not busy winning a national championship, but rather who she is off the field. A natural on camera, Erin was able to follow our lead and answer every question off the cuff - impressive is an understatement. Our hope was to put a Carolina spin on a pop culture trend, giving a glimpse into a day in the life of a phenomenal college athlete, enjoy!
